Core Values
1) Biblical Authority--
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of the Living God and is the authority for all that we do and believe.
“All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correction and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” II Timothy 3:16
We will endeavor to faithfully preach and teach the Word of God, believing that it is the primary source for leading people to understand who God is and how one can know Him eternally.
We will use the Bible to constantly affirm God’s direction for our lives and our church. The Bible is the sole authority that shapes our convictions and practices both individually and as a community of believers.
2) People--
We believe that all people are deeply loved by God and need redemption from sin.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
We will equip and encourage each member of Temple to pray for people that do not know Christ.
We will equip and encourage each member of Temple to invest their time in the lives of people who do not know Christ and to invite them to Church services or Bible studies, so that they might hear the powerful Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We will equip and encourage each member of Temple to be able to share with people about how to have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
3) Service--
We believe that every believer in Christ has been gifted and called by God to serve His church and the world.
“And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some asevangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11,12
We will assist and encourage each member of Temple to discover their God given giftedness, abilities, and most effective place of service within the church.
We believe that the fruit of a changed life is service, thus we will encourage every member of Temple to be involved in at least one ministry.
We will provide ongoing training in each ministry that will equip each member of Temple to be confident and qualified to serve.
4) Stewardship--
We believe that Biblical Stewardship is affirming God’s ownership over all that we have, acknowledging our accountability to God, and accepting the management responsibility for the gifts and resources God entrusts to us.
“Every generous act and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights; with Him there is no variation or shadow cast by turning.” James 1:17
We believe that the Lord has blessed every believer with a significant amount of time, money, and influence to be used to further the Kingdom of God.
We will endeavor to teach that stewardship is the proper management of all that God has given each member of Temple to expand His kingdom and bring glory to His name.
We will encourage each member of Temple to give at least a Biblical tithe of his/her income.
5) Excellence--
We believe that God deserves our best in all that we endeavor to do in both our individual lives and church community.
Believing that the pursuit of excellence honors God and inspires the body of Christ, we will pursue excellence in ministry as we seek to be led by the Holy Spirit in all that we do.
“And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17
“Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is just, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise—dwell on these things.” Philippians 4:8
6) Biblical Community--
We believe that the local church is the visible manifestation of the body of Christ where relationship with God and His people are experienced.
“They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles teaching and to
fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Acts 2:43
We believe that the biblical community is strengthened through spending time together socially, in ministry, in discipleship, and in times of need.
We will endeavor to provide a worship experience where community is celebrated and practiced.
We will equip families to become the primary place where biblical community is learned and practiced.
We will facilitate biblical community through our worship services, small group Bible studies, and ministry opportunities.
